B Corp Coffee Coalition Unites Seven Global Roasters

B Corp Coffee Coalition launches with seven global members to tackle coffee sustainability. How will its working groups shape the value chain?

A new global alliance of Certified B Corporations has launched the B Corp Coffee Coalition, bringing together seven companies from five continents to pursue sustainability initiatives across the coffee value chain as of 28 April 2026, according to the coalition’s official site at B Corp Coffee Coalition and a report by Daily Coffee News.

Daily Coffee News reports that the founding members are Sancoffee in Brazil, ViCafe in Switzerland, Cafe Imports in the United States, Bettr Group in Singapore, Clever Coffee in Denmark, Nomad Coffee Group in Australia and New Zealand, and Spring Valley Coffee in Kenya. The same report states that all seven are Certified B Corporations and collectively cover green coffee production, trading, roasting and retailing.

According to the coalition overview on B Corp Coffee Coalition, the group’s stated aim is to improve sustainability across the coffee value chain. The site describes the coffee industry as one of the most climate‑vulnerable sectors, adding that smallholder farmers face weather volatility, price pressure and persistent social inequities. In a contextual statement quoted on the same site, B Lab Switzerland says, “The coffee sector is facing increasing climate pressure, structural inequalities, and rising expectations around transparency with responsible sourcing.”

The coalition’s launch builds on the broader B Corp movement. The coalition site notes that the movement started in 2006 with B Lab, with the first 82 companies certified in 2007. The same source states that more than 10,400 businesses are now certified as B Corps worldwide.

The international spread of the founding members is highlighted by a report from World Coffee Portal, which states that the coalition brings together Certified B Corps from Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Asia‑Pacific region to address shared challenges in the sector. This reflects the coalition’s positioning as a platform for cross‑regional collaboration rather than a single‑origin or single‑market initiative.

On the coalition’s early structure, Nomad Coffee Group sustainability manager Nick Percy told BeanScene – The Coffee Post that the effort “has been about nine months in the works, getting everything set up with the right governance and protections to make sure that not only this coalition creates value for all those involved, but also protects everyone’s privacy.” Percy also said Nomad “joined a little down the track of getting it set up,” noting that the coalition “identified that it needed someone to represent the Australian and New Zealand markets, which gave us the opportunity to join as the seventh founding member.”

Percy described two initial working groups. The first, titled “From Poverty to Prosperity,” is “focusing on understanding what this can mean across the value circle, and looking beyond income alone to support strong livelihoods.” The second, “Purpose‑Led Coffee Workforce,” focuses “on employment attraction, retention and engagement all across the coffee sector,” according to Percy’s comments to BeanScene – The Coffee Post.

The coalition has begun outreach to the wider B Corp community. Its official site states that other Certified B Corps are invited to join the coalition and confirms that an open Q&A session was hosted on 30 April 2026. Daily Coffee News additionally reports that the coalition reserves the right to introduce a membership fee in the future.
