illycaffè reported first-half 2026 revenues of €373 million, up 19% at constant exchange rates, as the Italian roaster ramps up production capacity in Trieste and deepens a packaging partnership with US-based Westrock Coffee Company to serve the North American market.

According to illycaffè’s results announcement from Trieste on 3 August, revenue grew 17% at current exchange rates, while EBITDA reached €53 million, a 10% year-on-year increase. The company said all main channels recorded double-digit growth, with revenues in Italy up 19%, North America up 19% at constant exchange rates and Europe 21% higher than in the same period of 2025.

The same statement noted that this performance came in a context of elevated green coffee prices, described as approximately 20% higher than the previous year. It also highlighted an estimated two-percentage-point drag from currency effects, given the difference between 19% revenue growth at constant exchange rates and 17% at current exchange rates.

In comments released with the half-year figures, CEO Cristina Scocchia said, “We closed an extraordinary first half, with revenues and EBITDA both increasing by double digits,” adding that the period marked “a fundamental milestone in the plan to double Trieste’s production capacity with the start-up of the new roasting plant,” alongside a multi-year agreement with Westrock in the United States. The company reiterated in the same release that it plans to double production capacity at its main Trieste site.

The roasting expansion is closely linked to a reshaping of illycaffè’s North American supply chain. In June, the company announced a multi-year strategic production agreement with Westrock Coffee Company, under which Westrock will provide a multi-site platform enabling illycaffè to double the proportion of US-destined products packaged on-site, primarily ready-to-drink coffees, according to Comunicaffe. The roasting process will remain entirely at the Trieste facility, including increased production of illycaffè’s 250-gram tins, while Westrock focuses on development and packaging for the US market.

Scocchia described the United States as “a priority market for us, where we have achieved double-digit growth over the last four years,” and called the Westrock partnership “a key milestone in our growth plan” that will strengthen operations in North America and support new products tailored to the local market, in comments reported by Comunicaffe.

The company’s production investments have also translated into hiring at origin. Comunicaffe reported that the Trieste plant development plan led to the permanent recruitment of around 100 new staff members in 2025, ahead of the start-up of the new roasting plant referenced in the latest half-year results.

illycaffè’s momentum comes amid broader cost and supply concerns across the coffee sector. FoodBusinessME reported that coffee prices remain above historical averages despite easing from record highs, and cited Lavazza Group chairman Giuseppe Lavazza saying the industry needs “at least two strong harvests in Brazil and Vietnam” to rebuild inventories after recent disruptions.

FoodBusinessME also converted illycaffè’s first-half 2026 results into US dollars, placing revenues at US$430 million and EBITDA at US$61 million, and noted that the company had previously considered establishing roasting operations in the United States before deciding to maintain roasting in Trieste and collaborate with Arkansas-based Westrock on packaging and distribution for ready-to-drink products.

Beyond the latest half-year, FoodBusinessME reported that illycaffè’s consolidated annual revenue for 2025 was €700 million (US$807 million), providing a recent baseline for the company’s current growth trajectory.
