Aroma fans will fill Ljubljana in September for the city’s ten-year-old coffee bash.

The Ljubljana Coffee Festival runs on 20 and 21 September, 10:00 to 18:00, at the City Museum on Gosposka 15. Tickets start at 30 EUR. Visitors can sip unlimited specialty brews from Slovenia and abroad. Video of The Festival shows highlights, interviews, and the electrifying festival atmosphere.

Roasters will share beans from Ethiopia, Colombia, and other coffee origins. This rich diversity connects to Ethiopia’s role as the birthplace of coffee, allowing participants to explore its many flavors. Experts will teach tasting techniques like slurping from a spoon to catch every flavor. The Sensory Room hosts cupping sessions led by scientists and top roasters, showcasing techniques used by specialty coffee industry professionals.

The Barista Battle Challenge tests skill in espresso, latte art, cupping, and signature drinks. The International Latte Art Throwdown uses a knockout format. Crowds watch pros pour hearts, rosettas, and tulips onto tiny cups.

Workshops run by Akademija Stow suit both newbies and pros. Topics span brewing basics, water chemistry, and high-end gear. Slovenian and European baristas will share tips and stories.

The Roasters Village shows green beans, roasting machines, and local talent. The Lab Panel Forum pairs world-class baristas with Michelin-starred chefs. Street food stalls and mixology bars line the hall.

The event has grown since 2016 and now draws fans from across Europe. It helps build Slovenia’s specialty scene and links old and new coffee cultures.
