I love coffee
Who am I? I can’t find an answer that would impress. I love coffee. Instead of introducing my name, age, occupation, and marital status, I want to tell you a short story about me.
In 2015, I first learned about real coffee, specifically Espresso. Although I’ve known filter coffee since childhood, I’m Vietnamese. “Cà phê đá” (iced coffee) and “cà phê sữa” (coffee with condensed milk) are the two most popular drinks in my place, but I can’t drink them because they make me feel tired and make my stomach ache. That’s why I didn’t like drinking coffee when I was young. Later, I learned that traditional coffee is of poor quality, mixed with butter, corn, soybeans, wine, salt, vanilla flavour, and other unimaginable things.
But then life took a turn; I quit my job at 30 to open a coffee shop. Opening a coffee shop in Vietnam is very popular because it is easy; anyone can do it, but surviving is very difficult. At that time, I participated in a barista training class, and strangely, I could drink Espresso without feeling tired or having a stomach ache. Since then, I have loved Espresso, or more accurately, I have loved making deliciously fragrant espresso cups. At that time, I made 50 to 100 cups of Espresso daily. Customers are also gradually accepting real coffee but still need to understand what Espresso is; it is just called machine-brewed coffee.
As I said, it’s tough for a coffee shop to survive, so after 4 years of trying, I had to give up. I looked for another job and failed again. Through many failures, I learned many lessons, understood more about myself, and knew I had a passion for coffee. So I decided to do what I wanted to write, share all about coffee and connect coffee lovers together. I am still determining if I will succeed or fail, but at least I did what I wanted.
Cheers.
